Free Fitted Baby and Booster Seats

Every capsule, child seat and booster is supplied free and fitted before we arrive. You are not paying extra for it and you are not installing it yourself in a dark driveway.

The Short Answer

Southern Highlands Transfer supplies and fits baby capsules, child seats and boosters free of charge on every transfer. Tell us each child's age when you book and the correct restraint is installed before the vehicle arrives. NSW road rules require children under seven to be in an approved restraint.

The Problem

Why This Is Worth Asking About

Rideshare will not guarantee a child seat. Taxis are inconsistent about it. Most transfer operators either charge per seat or ask you to bring your own, which means carrying a capsule through an airport at the start of a holiday and again at the end of it.

Families flying early are the group most likely to be caught out by this, because the pickup is at 2am and there is no time to solve it if the vehicle turns up without the seat.

FAQ

Travelling With Children

Do you really not charge for child seats?

Correct. Capsules, forward-facing seats and boosters are supplied and fitted at no charge, on every fare, however many you need. It is not an add-on and it is not a line on the invoice.

Do I have to fit it myself?

No. We fit the restraint before we arrive at your door. You are not installing a capsule at the kerb at 2am with a toddler on your hip.

What ages do you cover?

Rear-facing capsules for infants, forward-facing seats for toddlers, and boosters for older children. Tell us each child's age and rough weight when you book and we will bring the right one.

What does the law require in NSW?

NSW road rules require children under seven to travel in an approved child restraint suited to their age. We will not carry a child without the correct restraint fitted, which is why we ask for ages at booking rather than on the day.

Can I use my own seat instead?

Yes, if you would rather. Bring it and the driver will help fit it. Most families going away for two weeks prefer not to carry one through an airport, which is why we supply them.

What about a pram?

Tell us when you book. A pram counts as oversized luggage rather than a bag, so we send a vehicle with the room. There is no surcharge for it.
