The OPT sits right on Circular Quay under the Harbour Bridge, which makes it the better looking of the two Sydney cruise terminals and the harder one to drive to. Every Highlands suburb has a published fare.
A transfer from the Southern Highlands to the Overseas Passenger Terminal at Circular Quay costs between $275 and $395 one way for one to two passengers, depending on your suburb. Tolls, fuel and GST are included. No deposit is taken and you pay the driver after drop-off.
The Overseas Passenger Terminal is at Circular Quay, on the western side between the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. Most of the larger international ships calling at Sydney berth here, and it is the terminal people picture when they think of sailing out of Sydney.
It is also in the middle of the city, which is the practical problem. Driving yourself means navigating Circular Quay traffic with full-size luggage on a day when several thousand other people are doing exactly the same thing, and then working out what to do with the car for a fortnight. We drop you at the terminal and drive away.
One way for one to two passengers, tolls and GST included. A return trip is double. Larger groups move up a vehicle tier.

Cruise days are not airport days. The luggage is bigger — full-size cases rather than carry-on — and the boarding window is hard: the ship leaves whether you are on it or not. There is no next sailing in two hours.
So we allocate the vehicle to the luggage rather than just the head count, and we build the schedule around your boarding time rather than a nominal arrival. Every fare still allows one check-in bag and one carry-on per passenger; if you are taking more, say so at booking: extra bags are $5 each and bulky items $10 each.
On the return leg we track the ship's arrival, so a late berth costs you nothing.
Between $275 and $395 one way for one to two passengers, depending on the suburb. The fare is fixed before you book and includes tolls, fuel and GST.
Broadly, the larger international ships that can pass under the Harbour Bridge berth at the OPT, while others use White Bay. Your cruise line will confirm the terminal on your boarding documents — tell us which one when you book.
One check-in bag and one carry-on per passenger is included. Cruise passengers usually carry more than that, so tell us the real number when you book and we will send a vehicle with the space. Extra bags are $5 each and bulky items $10 each.
We track the arrival. A late berth costs you nothing, because waiting time is already in the fixed fare.
Up to eleven passengers in one vehicle. On a cruise day that matters more than usual, because a group split across cars arrives at the terminal at different times with the luggage in the wrong vehicle.
